Milo is a springer spaniel with strong opinions and no interest in group walks. He's happiest with one walker, one route and no dithering at the gate. So Milo gets solo walks, booked for the same slot every morning.
We go out at 7.30 before the heath fills up. The route is the same spine every day with different loops off it: down through the woods, along the edge of the meadow, up past the bathing ponds and home along the path by the houses. Milo runs ahead, checks back, runs ahead again.
Sixty minutes door to door. He's toweled down before he goes in, gets fresh water, and the update goes to his owner by 8.45 with photos. His owner works from home and likes the routine as much as Milo does, so this one is set to repeat.
If your dog prefers their own company, solo walks might be the answer. Start with a free meet and greet.
